Starting press conference within the framework of the project “Management and Utilization of Urban Forests as Natural Heritage in Danube Cities ”

On November 9, 2018, a starting press conference was held within the framework of the project “Management and Utilization of Urban Forests as Natural Heritage in Danube Cities ” with the participation of the City Mayor Ruslan Martsinkiv, representative of the National Contact Point of the Danube Transnational Program in Ukraine Rostyslav Tomenchuk,  Mayor of the Vovchynets village Michael Nazar.

URBforDAN is designed to make changes to urban forests and aims to preserve the modern view of urban forests and to ensure that forest areas become a place for socialization, relaxation, recreation and education, and to improve the cooperation of key actors in order to resolve conflicts and improve the management of urban forests. In order to achieve this goal during the project implementation, a participatory approach, cross-sectoral cooperation, involvement of the best practices of the project partners and interaction with the ecosystem will be widely used.

The project «Management and Utilization of Urban Forests as Natural Heritage in Danube Cities ” is being implemented within the Danube Transnational Program funded by the EU funds (ERDF, IPA, ENI). The responsible partner for implementing the project activities in Ivano-Frankivsk is the Investment Policy Department of the Executive Committee of the Ivano-Frankivsk City Council.
