Second meeting with #Vovchynets Hills’ stakeholder was held in #Ivano-Frankivsk (Ukraine). This time, project team communicated with the #forest managers and forestry workers on forest management in the Vovchynets Hills within the project “Management and Utilization of Urban Forests as Natural Heritage in Danube Cities”, short URBforDAN.
Forestry representatives spoke about the features of the forest area subordinate to them and also shared their expectations from the project implementation.
Project team proposed forestry workers to conduct a #SWOT analysis.
Due to this task, participants will identify the strengths and weaknesses, as well as the opportunities and threats of managing urban and peri-urban forests in Ivano-Frankivsk for a better understanding of the current situation. All participants were encouraged to share their thoughts and views to improve the management of the urban forest.
The project «Management and Utilization of Urban Forests as Natural Heritage in Danube Cities ” is being implemented within the Danube Transnational Program funded by the EU funds (ERDF, IPA, ENI). The responsible partner for implementing the project activities in Ivano-Frankivsk is the Investment Policy Department of the Executive Committee of the Ivano-Frankivsk City Council.
